1944 on the Gothic Line, an American Soldier sacrificed his life to save the town of Sommacolonia in the northern mountains of Italy, from Hitler and his Nazi Troops.  If the troops advanced past that line they could take all of Italy. Outnumbered and outgunned, a young soldier named John Fox (in

Italian, Giovanni Volpe) sent his squad away with the towns civilians and led all of the Nazi troops to his position. Upon their arrival he then called in an airstrike. In willingly sacrificing himself, he saved the town and turned the tide of the war. His great act of selflessness and sacrifice allows us to celebrate and rejoice with our families. This Mastersecco is named in his honor and in honor of the other brave Italian partisans that sacrificed alongside him. Together they stopped the spread of Tyranny  across the world.
